24 hour race in Longview, Wa? Or marathon in Texas?
My brother was visiting from Chicago and we agreed the Pacific Rim run was a bit scary. It’s run on Lake Sacajawea and part of the loop is near where all the meth addicts live.
This was about 65 hours into ATY and I was completely frozen. I guess delirious too, since I chipped my tooth and I’m smiling.
I went to the Bronx half-marathon with Lisa and Elvia yesterday. It was the first race in a month that I didn’t throw up during.
This weekend, Myrtle Beach.
I did the preliminary empire state building run-up today and it was lots of fun! I did feel dizzy on the 79th floor and sat down for half a minute, but the feeling went away quickly. I ended up finishing in 26 minutes. A guy waiting for the elevator (down) said he was going to sell his medal on ebay. I wonder how much that will go for, a buck?
Melissa met me after the race and we went to Paragon and looked at coats and running clothes. We got breakfast in Union Square and then I had to go to a health dept thing downtown and I got caught in the Giants parade chaos. The streets were packed with people and no one was moving. Toilet paper and shredded paper had been thrown out of buildings and everything was covered in trash.
I walked to my old Starbucks after that to see if I could find my favorite transit employee sitting at the bar, but I had just missed him. And then I went home and DIDN’T do my laundry.
