On Sunday I visited the start of the Self Transcendence 3100 mile race. Petr and Asprihanal, the winners of the 10 and 6 day races respectively, were both running this year.

I would really like to do the race but Suprabha Beckjord is the only woman to have done it. Because the race is invite only, if I don’t get in, I was thinking I could just crash it. When the race starts I’ll come out with all my food, medical supplies, and a clipboard. I’ll count my laps on the clipboard each time I go around and I can have my own personal scoreboard hanging along the fence next to everyone elses.

The challenge I have is getting the time off of work. 2 months off is a long time!

I finished the 6 day race with 338 miles.  The CNN story is here. I come in half-way through.

Two weeks after on May 20th, I ran the Delaware Marathon. Then over Memorial Day weekend I ran a 3 day, 100 mile race, then last weekend I ran the Helena, MT Marathon. Helena turned into an ultra because I got off course, my biggest fear in a race! A word of advice, if in Helena, never eat at Sara’s Blue Ribbon Porkies.
