Yesterday started to fix up my apartment. First off I took a mason jar from the last tenant and filled it with yellow tulips and purple lillies. Second I bought a new toilet seat and switched it out. Then I went bed shopping. After sleeping on a tempur-pedic I didn’t think I would sleep on anything else, but I stayed on a mattress at the Kehoe House in Savannah that was amazing. I got the latest model of that, which will be delivered on Thursday.

I have to buy lighting fixtures for my studio and some foam for the floor under my sewing machine. I think I’m going to buy fabric to cover the swirly stucco walls in the living room. I also need a couch and a dresser. I used to garbage pick and I thought of craigslist, but now I’m too afraid of bedbugs.
I also got the number for a broker in Cobble Hill I used to know from work. So maybe I’ll be moving next month.

Due to desperation I got an apartment in Gravesend. It’s a walk to work in Bensonhurst.

I’ve always hated Williamsburg because of the architecture, the industrialness, and the way hipsters dress. Today I was walking through to meet a friend for dinner and I thought- well, this isn’t so bad. At least it’s close to the city. At least there’s people my age. There are people urinating on the street midday, but that’s okay.

I moved everything into the apartment last night. It’s a big 2 bedroom. I have an art studio that has my industrial sewing machine and jewelry bench and there’s more than enough room. I have a bedroom that I’m only putting my bed in I don’t want distractions from sleeping. The kitchen and living room are both very large but at this point I dont have anything to fill them up. I’m of 2 minds about it- I’m so happy to have space and I want a nice place to live, but how long can I live out there before I go completely insane? I’ve lived within a short walk of all my friends, any train I need, a short run to Prospect Park for the last 7 years. I’m sleeping in my old apartment right now because I’m too afraid of leaving here. I give it two months before I have to move.
